Job summary

Highmark Health invites graduate students to join the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development Graduate Internship. Work across four tracks—Knowledge Graphs, Medical Imaging, Predictive Modeling, and AI Applications—to apply ML, AI, graph tech, and computer vision to healthcare challenges.

You will collaborate with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers to build analytics solutions using clinical and insurance data, with mentorship and applied research

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Pursuit of a graduate degree full or part‑time in an accredited college or university.
• Strong programming in Python and data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
• Receive guidance and mentorship from senior personnel.
• Participate in projects to develop professional skills and expertise.
• Assist in planning and implementing unit projects and initiatives.
• Conduct research and reporting with recommendations for action.
• Engage in related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
