Job summary

Highmark Health invites graduate students to join the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development Graduate Internship to apply advanced data science, ML, AI, and software engineering to healthcare challenges using clinical and insurance data.

You will work with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers across four tracks: Knowledge Graphs, Medical Imaging, Predictive Modeling, and AI Applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Pursuance of a graduate degree (full or part‑time) in an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients in planning assignments and resolving issues.
• Receive guidance and mentorship from senior personnel to carry out activities.
• Undertake projects to develop professional skills and expertise for the organization.
• Participate in planning and implementing unit projects within area of expertise.
• Conduct research and reporting with recommendations for action as requested by management.
• Engage in related studies or enrichment programs aligned with unit objectives.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
