Role Overview:

We assist hospitals and health plans in improving revenue and delivering community benefits by helping patients and plan members with low income, the elderly, or disabled to enroll in government assistance programs.

The Sr. Outreach Specialist will work in a fast-paced contact center environment, screening health plan members to determine eligibility for Social Security benefits, nutritional assistance, and similar programs, using system tools akin to those used by Social Security.

The role involves providing high-level customer service, supporting eligible individuals, and assisting with the application process for benefits to the relevant government agencies.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Make outbound and receive inbound calls to promote company services; 90% phone-based
  • Interview patients/members via phone to gather personal and financial information for eligibility assessment
  • Utilize company systems to ask appropriate questions
  • Explain eligibility requirements and application procedures
  • Use probing questions to clarify data
  • Record and evaluate data to determine eligibility
  • Adhere to information security policies and complete annual security and compliance training
Role Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a customer service or call center environment
  • Ability to place and receive calls via computer interface
  • Excellent phone communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle difficult interactions assertively and with compassion
  • Experience working remotely with a private, quiet workspace
  • Associate’s Degree preferred
