Job summary

Cascadia Healthcare is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, employees, and special events in accordance with safety standards. You will follow planned menus, use standardized recipes, and ensure meals are delicious, properly portioned, and served on time with accurate temperature records.

Applicants should have current ServSafe certification or be able to obtain it, and prefer experience in long-term care or therapeutic diets.

Qualifications

• Six months’ experience in large quantity food preparation.
• Experience with therapeutic diet preparation preferred.
• Six months experience in a long term care environment preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old due to federal labor laws.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets as requested.
• Portion and serve meals to residents and staff.
• Follow food safety techniques and document temperatures.
• Use standardized recipes and maintain temperature logs.
• Keep areas clean and organized; report equipment problems.
• Assist in receiving and stocking food supplies.
• Collaborate with Culinary Manager and other departments.
• Ensure timely service and proper portion control.
