Job summary

KALESTA HEALTHCARE GROUP in Citrus Heights, CA is seeking an experienced cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents, following dietary guidelines and recipes, and ensuring serving temperatures and timings are met. You will collaborate with the Dietary Services Supervisor to manage resources efficiently.

Requirements include a High School education (preferred), and ServSafe certification is preferred. At least one year of commercial kitchen experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• At least 1 year experience cooking in a commercial kitchen.
• Ability to read menus and dietary requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and prepares meals according to menu cycles and diets.
• Cook nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities at proper temperatures and times.
• Supervise kitchen staff and assist with food prep and storage.
• Frequently clean work areas and prevent waste.
• Inspect trays and monitor resident acceptance of menu items.
• Maintain sanitation and infection control standards.
• Assist with inventory, ordering and receiving.
