Job summary

KALESTA HEALTHCARE GROUP is seeking a Cook in Pullman, WA to prepare nutritionally sound meals following recipes and diet plans, ensuring proper temperatures and timely service. You will work with the Dietary Services Supervisor to manage resources and meet residents' dietary needs while maintaining safety and sanitation.

The role requires experience in institutional cooking, a high school diploma (preferred), and knowledge of nutrition guidelines. ServSafe certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• License: ServSafe Certification, preferred.
• Work Experience: At least one year experience cooking in a commercial kitchen or health care dietary department preferred. Functional literacy and knowledge ... nutrition and diet management.
• Language Skills: Must read, analyze, and interpret common scientific/technical information in English.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic for portions and recipe scaling.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and prepares foods that correspond to menu cycles and recipes prepared by Dietitian.
• Cook meals in institutional quantities at proper temperatures and times.
• Supervise kitchen staff assisting with preparation, assembling trays, cleaning and storage.
• Inspect trays and monitor resident acceptance of menu items; report findings.
• Handle, store and dispose of food according to department procedures and laws.
