Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks a Controller to oversee organization-wide accounting and financial reporting in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment.

You will ensure GAAP compliance, manage grant accounting, and coordinate audits while collaborating with executive leadership for strategic decision-making. Experience in nonprofit healthcare finance, strong leadership, and ability to implement robust internal controls are essential for sustaining mission-driven operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Lead GAAP compliance and regulatory reporting for FQHC/nonprofit.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and grant accounting.
• Coordinate audits and internal controls.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, and cash management.
• Provide financial analysis to inform leadership decisions.
• Develop and manage fixed assets, capital, and payroll accounting.
• Lead and develop the finance team.
• Drive technology and process improvements in finance.
