Job summary

EmergencyMD is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting team and implement financial policies. You will oversee month-end and year-end closes, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and coordinate audits with external teams.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication. You will collaborate with budget stakeholders and drive process improvements across the accounting function.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting.
• Familiar with Single Audit requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical abilities with Excel and web-based tools.
• Extreme attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Review general ledger monthly for accuracy and reconciliations.
• Supervise accounting staff and review their work.
• Coordinate monthly and annual closing activities.
• Oversee external audit requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with Budget/Financial management to monitor performance and advise improvements.
• Improve accounting processes and procedures.
