Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking a proactive Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. You will supervise direct labor, coordinate contracted work, and ensure project completion on schedule and within budget.

You will interface with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and clients to review scopes, phasing, and progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction field plus at least 5 years of commercial construction experience.
• Healthcare construction experience required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Understanding and applying building codes and reading blueprints accurately.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures for construction and staffing for each phase.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to determine project schedule and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Inform all parties of construction issues and progress; meet with supervision and subcontractors regularly.
• Resolve issues with supervisory and labor personnel; coordinate with engineers and inspectors to resolve problems.
• Inspect progress to ensure conformance with specifications and schedules.
• Manage project resources, progress reports, materials, and costs; adjust schedules as needed.
• Move personnel between projects to optimize labor costs; manage crew mixes and assignments.
