Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Illinois is seeking a Midwest Non-Acute Construction Project Manager to lead administration and supervision of hospital construction projects at Advocate IL locations.

You will coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects and hospital staff; manage budgets; review bids; prepare change orders; inspect progress and ensure work meets specifications while minimizing disruption to hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field.
• 2+ years of project management experience in hospital or health care settings.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic skills in word processing, scheduling, and accounting spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the bid review process; analyses quotations and proposals.
• Reviews submittals for accuracy and conformity to LGH specifications.
• Ensures projects are built according to specifications.
• Administers construction projects and maintains project documentation.
• Assists in preparation of initial budget estimates for approval.
• Reviews bids and assists in selection of contractors.
• Prepares change orders for approval.
• Reviews and processes pay requests.
• Maintains and updates project budget tracker sheets.
• Coordinates contractor meetings and interfaces with engineers, architects, and staff.
