Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead small/medium projects, ensure plans review and schedule adherence, and oversee environment of care compliance. You will coordinate with user departments, track budgets, and supervise contractors to deliver high-quality results.

The role requires strong communication, proven on-site problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.

Qualifications

• 7 years of increasing project management supervision and quality assurance.
• Proven ability to manage construction jobs on time and within budget.
• Excellent written and oral communication for contract compliance and user expectation management.
• Intermediate word processing and spreadsheet skills (Word/Excel).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of construction management and act as the owner's advocate.
• Maintain project documentation for change orders, RFIs, bulletins, and correspondence.
• Track budget, contingency reserves and grant reporting; support cash flow forecasting.
• Draft communications with contractors, design team and users; provide monthly summaries.
• Foster teamwork and a customer-focused approach to problem resolution.
• Maintain project logs and ensure timely follow-up on delayed items.
