Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Communication Representative to join our team. You will assist with switchboard operations, manage incoming calls, pages, and messages, and ensure accurate and timely communication across the organization.

The role supports emergency and routine communications, coordinates after-hours staffing, arranges ASL and LEP interpreter services, and helps maintain contact lists and on-call schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience as a secretary, receptionist, or in customer service in a busy public office.
• Prior clerical or administrative work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls, pages, and messages and route them appropriately.
• Monitor alarm systems and relay critical information to emergency teams.
• Coordinate after-hours communication and maintain on-call schedules.
• Arrange ASL/LEP interpreters to support patient and visitor needs.
• Assist with daily telecommunications operations and troubleshoot issues to minimize disruptions.
• Maintain documentation, logs, and emergency communication records.
• Support emergency response efforts as needed (Hospital Emergency Incident Command System).
