Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic in Toppenish, WA is seeking a Coding Specialist I to identify and resolve issues delaying clinical charge postings. You will post charges in Epic, review documentation, and ensure confidentiality of patient data in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Medical coding program preferred.
• Minimum six months healthcare coding/billing experience.
• Experience with a healthcare practice management system.
• Epic system experience preferred.
• CPC or CCS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, and resolve issues that impede posting of clinical charges.
• Post charges in Epic per coding rules and conventions.
• Review charge documents for completeness and return incomplete documents.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient demographics and financial information.
• Uphold Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA compliance in billing, collections, and PHI.
• Report to work as scheduled and meet performance standards.
• Essential functions may be revised by the employer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
