Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals requires skilled cooks for the pediatric dietary area. You will prepare meals for patients and guests, follow standardized recipes, and control portion sizes. You’ll document temperatures, maintain cleanliness, and support cycle menus while meeting sanitation standards and dietary guidelines.

Role involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and rotating weekends/holidays. Training provided and hospital environment with patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from MCHD prior to starting or obtain a temporary FSWP and a permanent FSWP within 1 month.
• Must pass WV DHHR background checks if assigned to certain centers.

Responsibilities

• Safely prepare food according to recipes and projected amounts.
• Ensure food served at proper temperature and document temperatures.
• Restock and clean areas and equipment.
• Gathers ingredients efficiently and follows menu cycles.
• Communicates with servers regarding portion size and prep needs.
• Maintain sanitation, safety and quality control per MCHD policies.
