AdventHealth is seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to manage patient financial interactions in Orlando, FL. The role involves setting payment plans, ensuring accurate account adjustments, and coordinating with multiple departments to support discharge planning and financial assessments.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year experience in a medical office setting, knowledge of CPT/ ICD9 coding, and preferred CPC/ROCC certifications. Onsite schedule, with full-time hours and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office setting or financial assistance knowledge.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD9 coding is preferred.
• Experience with hospital contracts and patient financials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sets payment arrangements with uninsured and/or underinsured patients and physicians' offices; schedules payments as required.
• Ensures financial statements are scanned and patient accounts are adjusted accurately for state audits.
• Reviews accounts proposed for transfer to collections and communicates with leadership.
• Gathers financial information, estimates procedure costs, and prepares contracts for patients; coordinates with multiple departments for discharge planning and financial assessments.
