Role Overview: The successful candidate will review billing errors and edits, work on clearinghouse rejections, and ensure claims are billed within 24 hours.

Shift: Monday to Friday

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Review billing errors and correct related issues for physician offices.
• Address clearinghouse rejections and ensure timely billing within 24 hours.
• Accurately enter patient and guarantor demographics.
• Ensure correct entry of insurance details.
• Enter charges with all necessary details, including date of service, providers, procedure codes, and modifiers.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Suggest process improvements and identify workflow challenges.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in physician billing.
• Healthcare billing experience is required.
• High School Diploma; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing systems.
• Proficiency in Excel, payer portals, and claims clearinghouses.

Additional Duties

• Identify root causes of issues in accounts receivable and address them.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant federal, state, and payer-specific regulations.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in resolving accounts.

This role requires strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to meet productivity and quality standards.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate ranges from $19.00 to $21.00, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance.
