In this role, the successful candidate will review billing errors and edits for a facility. Responsibilities include working on clearinghouse rejections and ensuring claims are billed within 24 hours.

Shift: Monday to Friday

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Review billing errors: Analyze and correct billing errors and edits related to a medical facility.
• Clearinghouse rejections: Work on rejections and ensure claims are billed within 24 hours.
• Demographics entry: Accurately enter patient and guarantor details.
• Insurance details: Ensure correct entry of insurance information.
• Charge entry: Enter charges with all necessary details like date of service, providers, procedure codes, and modifiers.
• Productivity and quality: Adhere to standards.
• Process improvement: Suggest improvements and forecast workflow challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2-3 years in medical facility billing.
• Healthcare billing experience required.
• Education: HS Diploma; Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing systems.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in Excel, payer portals, and claims clearinghouses.

Additional Duties

• Root cause analysis: Identify and address issues in accounts receivable.
• Regulatory compliance: Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations.
• Problem solving: Demonstrate initiative in resolving accounts.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to meet productivity and quality standards.

Salary and Benefits

The hourly rate is $19.00–$21.00, depending on experience. The position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program.
