Job summary

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and managed care insurance plans, and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Submit prior authorization requests to health plans and managed care organizations for outpatient services, testing, procedures, and medications.
• Track and document authorization statuses within Epic to ensure care continuity.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits while complying with payer guidelines and departmental policies.
• Process high-volume authorization workloads (30+ daily) with timely turnaround for routine and STAT requests.
