Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an Authorization Specialist to obtain all necessary authorizations in accordance with established guidelines. You will verify eligibility, gather benefit information, and generate letters for approvals to support patient access.

You will respond to Member Services inquiries, resolve authorization issues, and collaborate with off-site practices as needed. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication in English, and familiarity with medical terminology.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience registering patients in a hospital or clinic.
• Ability to interpret medical terminology.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel to off-site physician practices.
• Experience with ICD9 and CPT codes.
• Experience using MS Office.
• Knowledge of Epic is a plus.
