Job summary

NELSON Worldwide is seeking a highly motivated Architect to lead healthcare design projects from concept through construction administration. The role blends technical leadership with proactive project management, ensuring design excellence while balancing client expectations and business goals.

Ideal candidates possess strong healthcare project experience, knowledge of design software, and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of design trends, construction methodology, materials application, and supplier appropriateness.
• Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals for production of technical plans, drawings, and models.
• Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
• Ability to salvage troubled clients, accounts, and/or projects.
• Knowledge of building codes and Life Safety codes, building systems, and ADA requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, graphically and in writing.
• Proficiency in contract administration.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines while delivering high quality service.
• Strong working knowledge in project management/planning software; Deltek Vision or VantagePoint preferred.
• Good working knowledge of HubSpot CRM and MS Office.
• Good understanding of Revit and AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop.
• Familiarity with NewForma and BlueBeam Revu (preferred).
• Good working knowledge of AIA Documents and other contract types.
• Good writing skills to develop client proposals with clear scope and fee.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural and technical development from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration.
• Translate design concepts and client requirements into coordinated, technically sound architectural solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of codes including FGI guidelines, construction methods, and building systems.
• Stay updated on healthcare design principles and current medical trends; review healthcare articles as appropriate.
• Research local Healthcare Design Regulations for each project location.
• Develop and manage project scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Monitor fees and budgets and ensure interdisciplinary coordination.
• Lead internal and consultant coordination meetings and maintain client communications.
• Ensure documentation such as meeting minutes and logs are recorded and stored.
• Support QA/QC and implement corrections before milestones.
