Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounts receivable experience within the healthcare revenue cycle.
• AAPC or AHIMA certification such as CPC or RHIT.
• 2+ years of experience with healthcare and/or insurance billing and processing.

Responsibilities

• Verifies or obtains patient eligibility and/or authorization for healthcare services by searching payer sites or client systems, or by phone with insurer.
• Updates patient demographics and/or insurance information in appropriate systems.
• Researches EOBs for payments or adjustments to resolve claims and follows guidelines for deadlines.
• Writes appeal letters for denials and prepares claims for clinical audit processing.
