Job summary

Highmark Health invites graduate students to join the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development Internship. The program focuses on applying advanced analytics, ML, AI, and graph technologies to clinical and healthcare data.

Interns will work with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers across knowledge graphs, medical imaging, predictive modeling, and AI applications, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in a related field.
• Pursuit of a graduate degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Under supervision, provide professional data science services aligned with project goals.
• Undertake and participate in projects to develop professional skills.
• Contribute to unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise.
• Conduct research and prepare reports with recommendations or alternatives.
• Engage in studies or enrichment programs for the operating unit.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
