Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum three years in health care and one year in surgery scheduling preferred.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Knowledge of surgery scheduling, receptionist and registration responsibilities.
• Ability to handle stress and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide facility support across business office functions including Medical Records, Credentialing, Admissions/Intake, Accounts Payable and Billing.
• Schedule surgeries in the template and coordinate with physician offices for scheduling details.
• Answer phones politely; assist physician offices and patients as needed.
• Perform pre-registration and obtain necessary authorizations prior to surgery.
• Maintain logs for cancelled appointments and perform clerical duties as required.
• Keep the scheduling area clean and orderly; document insurance verification and patient calls.
