Job summary

USI Insurance Services in Tempe is seeking a Health & Welfare Compliance Attorney to monitor and communicate evolving laws (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA) and to develop client-facing materials. You will work with a national team of Employee Benefit Attorneys to support internal sales teams and external clients.

The role requires 4–8 years of relevant experience, strong MS Office and Adobe skills, and the ability to present complex information clearly. Some travel (10–20%) is expected.

Qualifications

• College degree and J.D. required.
• 4-8 years experience in compliance issues of employer-sponsored welfare benefits plans.
• Must be proficient with MS Office Suite and Adobe products.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Establish effective relationships with internal partners, clients and carriers.
• Collaborate as part of a national team of Employee Benefit Attorneys to meet compliance objectives.
• Research, edit and publish articles, alerts and materials for clients and staff.
• Assist in strategy development for ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA and related laws.
• Develop and maintain compliance education tools for health and welfare plans.
• Create and deliver presentations to internal staff and clients.
• Monitor legal developments affecting employee benefit plans.
• Maintain and update compliance library resources.
