Job description

Do you want to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of families in your community? Joining a dedicated team as a Health Visitor on the beautiful Isle of Man, you will assess the health needs of children and families, either in their homes or in a clinical environment, and develop and deliver a plan of care to address identified needs, making referrals and working in partnership with multi-professional agencies.

Main duties of the job

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a supportive, caring team who share a passion and commitment for helping children reach their full health and developmental potential. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, we'd love to hear from you!

About us

By joining Manx Care on the Isle of Man, you'll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island's healthcare system is similar but separate from the UK NHS. We provide opportunities for professional learning and CPD, including access to our well-resourced education and training centre. Many of our locations offer free on-site parking. Relocating here can also qualify you for a refund on your National Insurance contributions for the first year, and we offer generous relocation packages for most roles. The Isle of Man offers a great lifestyle, a safe environment, and excellent schools. Residents benefit from lower tax rates compared to most EU countries.

Job responsibilities

A workplace that invests in you

Enjoy higher salaries compared to the UK, with annual increases that go beyond typical UK NHS pay scales.

Benefit from a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days plus 10 public holidays.

Subject to eligibility, the Isle of Man Public Service offers two pension schemes: the Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011 or the Defined Contribution (DC) Arrangement.

Experience a healthcare system similar to, but separate from, the UK NHS, with benefits such as free on-site parking.

Access our on-site education and training centre, Keyll Darree, which features a lecture theatre, medical library, training facilities, and a state-of-the-art simulation lab operated by trained practitioners.

Take advantage of professional development opportunities, including funded courses up to Masters Level.

You may apply for an unpaid career break after 3 years of service.

Access the Isle of Man Public Service Cycle to Work scheme after your first year.

Utilize the Learning, Education and Development facility, exclusive for Public Service employees, to support your continuous professional development.

Receive free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service, offering counselling and emotional support.

Accommodation is available for the first 6 months at a reduced rate for non-Island residents.

A relocation package of up to £7,000 is available, based on receipts, along with housing assistance covering the difference between your current and new rent or mortgage, up to £250 per month. The role also offers a recruitment incentive of £3,000, payable in installments over the first 25 months.
