The Health Unit Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide clerical support and manage the flow of information with the appropriate staff members and physicians as needed. Responsible for documenting and relaying radio communication from all incoming emergency medical transport teams to emergency medical staff. The Health Unit Technician is also a trained auxiliary staff member who functions under the direction of a professional nurse to assist in providing necessary and desired services to patients in the Emergency Department as needed.
