Job summary

Ecumen in Minnesota is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to provide administrative and clerical support to the nursing staff on an assigned unit.

You will manage health record charts, transcribe orders, maintain documentation, and coordinate appointments and transport for residents.

This full-time role offers a daytime schedule, competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of Medical Secretary or Health Unit Coordinator program, or equivalent knowledge.
• One year of related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow safety rules, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and maintain health record charts for all clients on the unit.
• Transcribe physician orders, code diagnoses, obtain signatures.
• Ensure health information is properly filed in patient records.
• Maintain and update medication and treatment sheets; track census.
• Schedule clinics and physician visits; arrange transportation as needed.
• Answer calls and maintain a clean, safe work environment; ensure supplies are stocked.
• Retrieve and disseminate health information for unit operations.
