Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills and touch typing.
• HUC post-secondary program or HUC Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Proficiency with computer skills; EPIC preferred.
• Outstanding customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Adapts to unpredictable situations within patient care.
• Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Maintains certifications/licensure per work unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• The HUC provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units.
• Monitors supplies, answers call lights, and assists the care team with orders in the EHR.
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors and staff; supports continuity of care.
