Job summary

MultiCare Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley, WA, is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) for a 0.9 FTE, day shift with a 3x12 schedule. The HUC will serve as the focal communicator, support patient care coordination, and help ensure smooth hospital operations.

You will perform receptionist duties, support care delivery for diverse patients, and collaborate with the Clinical Director and RN. Requirements include Unit Secretary training or enrollment, and clerical or patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Unit Secretary vocational training course or enrollment in a clinical education program.
• One year of patient care experience or equivalent clerical experience in a medical setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform receptionist and communications duties.
• Support care delivery and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups.
• Regularly apply independent decision-making and strong interpersonal skills.
• Collaborate with Clinical Director and/or RN for optimal care delivery and patient services.
