Job summary

Southview Acres Health Care Center is seeking a Full-Time Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to join our team. The HUC will transcribe physician orders, coordinate resident visits and transports, and manage labs and referrals across the unit.

The role requires English proficiency, a high school diploma or GED, and experience in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of PCC software and Microsoft Office is preferred. This position offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or similar Medical Secretary certificate.
• High School diploma or GED completed.
• Familiarity with PCC Electronic Health Care software preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or Senior living/care settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe physician orders accurately from admission through discharge or death.
• Coordinate visits, appointments, and transportation for residents with staff.
• Order labs and x-rays and manage referrals for appointments.
• Maintain resident charts and ensure forms are current and accessible.
• Participate in audits to uphold quality standards.
• Provide professional and timely telephone support.
• Serve as receptionist for the assigned patient care unit and facilitate communication with departments.
