Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine (KPSOM) seeks to expand its externally funded research portfolio within health systems science, clinical effectiveness, and health equity.

The role partners with faculty and clinical leaders to access Kaiser data sources and to leverage AI, genomics, and implementation science in health system transformation. The position includes teaching and mentoring responsibilities for medical students and participation in scholarly activities.

Qualifications

• Health-related research experience in clinical or health services research.
• Ability to obtain funding from NIH, PCORI, private foundations or industry.
• First or senior author publications in clinical medicine, population health or health care research.
• Strong teaching and mentoring abilities.
• Proven collaboration, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Expand a program of externally funded research in core domains: clinical effectiveness and value, access to care, health care delivery innovation, population health.
• Establish collaborations with current faculty to grow externally funded research.
• Identify opportunities to partner with health system leaders to address priorities using diverse research methods.
• Engage in scholarly activities including clinical effectiveness, health services research, improvement science, AI/ML, personalized medicine, and health policy.
• Mentor KPSOM students on scholarly projects and supervise student research.
• Present and facilitate learning sessions in various group settings.
• Scholarly duties and resources tailored to evolving department priorities.
