Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to join our US-based construction safety team. This office-based role focuses on developing, implementing, and auditing safety programs to ensure a compliant, incident-free job site environment.

Responsibilities include leading incident investigations, delivering staff training, coordinating with project managers, and staying current with regulatory changes. Fluency in Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• OSHA30 certification and minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• CHST/STSC preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• High School diploma required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is mandatory.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Must pass a government background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy work environment.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations; perform site visits as needed.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Provide safety training and education to staff on protocols and procedures.
• Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety into work processes.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; implement corrective actions.
• Monitor effectiveness of safety programs and adjust as needed.
• Develop safety metrics and report to senior management.
• Stay updated on new safety developments and regulatory changes.
• Handle insurance claims and incident reporting to executives.
• Attend pre-work meetings and safety briefings.

A Day in the Life / Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and investigations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. (some job site visits will be required.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to workplace safety and health.
• Provide training and education to all staff on safety protocols and procedures.
• Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety measures are integrated into all work processes.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring all incidents are reported and corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, making necessary adjustments to enhance their effectiveness.
• Develop safety performance metrics and present regular reports to senior management.
• Stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory changes in the field of construction safety.
• Insurance claims and management

• Attend pre-work meetings including preparatory meetings

Requirements:

• OSHA30 AND amin. of 5 yrs experience in Construction safety
• CHST/STSC Preferred
• First Aid and CPR certification
• High School diploma
• MUST be Bilingual (SPANISH)
• Must have VALID driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a government background check.
