Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs across construction projects. The role includes audits, regulatory compliance, staff training, and coordinating with project managers to integrate safety into all work processes.

The candidate will lead incident investigations, perform root-cause analyses, and report outcomes to senior management.

Qualifications

• OSHA-30 certification required.
• Minimum 5 years in construction safety.
• Bilingual ability in Spanish is required.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions (some site visits).
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Provide training and education on safety protocols to all staff.
• Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety measures into work processes.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis; ensure reporting and corrective actions are completed.
• Monitor, evaluate, and adjust safety programs to improve effectiveness.
• Develop safety metrics and report to senior management.

A Day in the Life / Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and investigations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. (some job site visits will be required.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to workplace safety and health.
• Provide training and education to all staff on safety protocols and procedures.
• Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety measures are integrated into all work processes.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring all incidents are reported and corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, making necessary adjustments to enhance their effectiveness.
• Develop safety performance metrics and present regular reports to senior management.
• Stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory changes in the field of construction safety.
• Insurance claims and management
• Incident investigation and reporting to upper management/executives
• Attend pre-work meetings including preparatory meetings

Requirements:

• OSHA30 AND amin.of 5 yrs experience in Construction safety
• First Aid and CPR certification
• High School diploma
• MUST be Bilingual (SPANISH)
• Must have VALID driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a government background check.
