Job summary

Twin Brothers Marine LLC is seeking an HSE Technician to support occupational health and safety and environmental efforts in a metal production setting. The role requires a high school diploma, with a BS in OH&S preferred, and EMT training is considered a plus.

Two years of related experience is expected. The position involves implementing HSE programs, coordinating with emergency services, and maintaining compliance with permits and plans.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required, EMT training preferred.
• Bachelor's in Occupational Health and Safety preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work as instructed by the Director of Safety/HR.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Evaluates injuries from accidents and coordinates with Fire/EMS/Police in emergencies.
• Assist in implementing HSE programs to reduce injuries, illnesses, and losses.
• Assist in near-miss and incident investigations.
• Host daily safety meetings and conduct worksite visits.
• Ensure compliance with facility permits and plans.
• Compile HSE performance reports for leadership and projects.
• Ensure all HSE training and medical testing for employees and contractors.

Experience

Required: 2 yrs. experience in occupational Health and Safety with Environmental experience. Medical Training.

Training

Required: Working knowledge of hazard identification and OSHA regulations and Emergency Medical Technician training preferred. Company specific training provided.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to HSE in a metal production mill type setting. Medical responder training required, advanced medical training a plus. Ability to conduct training in a group setting. Familiar with Microsoft systems.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Work as instructed by the Director of Safety/HR.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Evaluates potential injuries from accidents. Coordinate activities with other emergency agencies (Fire, EMS, Police etc.) in case of emergency medical situations.
• Assist in implementing Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs to eliminate or reduce occupational injuries, Illnesses, and financial losses.
• Assist in investigations of near misses and incidents.
• Hosts daily safety meetings with crews and conducts daily worksite visits.
• Works towards assurance the facility maintains compliance according to approved facility permits and plans.
• Compiles HSE performance reports for leadership and projects.
• Ensure all HSE training and medical testing is completed for employees and contractors.
