Job summary

Borusan Pipe in Baytown, TX is seeking an HSE-focused professional to support the Sr. HSE Manager in deploying targets and risk assessments across the site. You will contribute to safety programs, train employees, and help maintain ISO-based systems within a manufacturing environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma with 2+ years in safety, strong communication, and the ability to work in a rotating schedule. Spanish is a plus and ERP/MS Office skills are favored.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and two years related experience in a Safety role.
• Experience in environmental, occupational health or safety programs in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Effective communication; interact with personnel at all levels with confidence and integrity.
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, work in a team or on your own, prioritize tasks, manage time.
• Experience with 5S, continuous improvement processes and ISO management systems strongly preferred.
• Capable of working MS Office suite and the ability to grasp an ERP system.
• Spanish as a second language is a plus.
• Must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Sr. HSE Manager in deploying HSE targets and objectives.
• Supports completion of site and workstation-level risk assessments to identify and prioritize HSE aspects.
• Effective communication with relevant departments on program design and use of equipment.
• Supports site efforts to ensure key HSE controls are in place and actions are resolved timely.
• Ensures every employee can stop work when an unsafe act or condition is identified.
• Maintains focus on HSE responsibilities through internal committees and safety meetings.
• Performs site and shop safety inspections of Physical Plant and operations.
• Provides training to all department personnel on a variety of safety and health topics.
• Lead HSE related motivation programs to increase awareness and promote a safety culture.
• Other activities as assigned.

Working conditions are of a professional office environment. Administrative personnel may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats.

1. Qualifications:

1.1. High School diploma and two years related experience in a Safety role.

2.2. Supports completion of site and workstation-level risk assessments to identify and prioritize HSE aspects

2.3. Effective communication with all relevant departments on design and use of programs, procedures and equipment.

2.4. Supports site efforts to ensure that key HSE operational controls are in place and that HSE action items are resolved on a timely basis.

2.5. Ensures that every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when an unsafe act or condition has been identified.

2.6. Maintains focus on HSE responsibilities through internal HSE committees and safety meetings.

3. Activities:

3.1. Performs site and shop safety inspections of Physical Plant and operations.

3.2. Provides training to all department personnel on a variety of safety and health topics.

4. Authority and Obligation:

4.1. This position has the authority to stop production at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety.
