Job summary

State of Maryland at MDH Clifton Perkins Hospital Center in Jessup, MD seeks a managerial Health Records Program Manager to lead planning, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of the health records program for a State facility.

The role directly supervises Health Records Technician Supervisors and oversees staff while reporting to a higher-level health administrator, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and related health information standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate of Arts in Medical Records Sciences from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Five years compiling and maintaining health records, including one year of supervisory responsibility.
• Substitutions: AHIMA registration or two years supervisory experience; military health records experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, maintain and evaluate a health records program for a State facility or local health department.
• Directly supervise Health Records Technician Supervisors and indirectly supervise all staff in the program.
• Receive managerial supervision from a higher-level health administrator.
