Job summary

Healthcare seeks a Healthcare Records Manager to lead the Medical Records services, ensuring complete, accurate and legally compliant documentation across the department.

The role includes supervising staff, directing quality improvement projects, and maintaining procedures while ensuring compliance with federal and Missouri requirements such as HIDI, Medicare, Medicaid, and cancer registries.

Qualifications

• RHIT or RHIA credential required and ongoing continuing education to maintain credential.
• Experience in Medical Records is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with all stakeholders.
• Proficiency with standard office equipment and software.
• Trustworthy with strict confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
• Professional appearance and demeanor expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and direct Medical Records services to ensure complete, accurate and legally compliant documentation.
• Supervise Medical Record Department staff and lead quality improvement projects and audits.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and Missouri regulations (HIDI, Medicare, Medicaid, cancer registry).
• Perform routine medical records duties as needed due to absenteeism or other factors.
• Maintain employee work schedules and payroll-related duties as needed; support evaluations.
• Develop and maintain department policies and procedures and participate in corporate committees.
