GRADE: 19

LOCATION OF POSITION: MDH - Acute Care Administration/ Dental, Clinics and Labs 201 W. Preston Street Baltimore, MD 21201

Main Purpose of Job: The primary purpose of this position is to design, evaluate, analyze, develop, research and update all statewide policies, processes, data and reports related to the Maryland Healthy Smiles Dental Program. This position is also responsible for monitoring the contract of the Dental Benefits Administrator (DBA) that administers the Maryland Healthy Smiles Dental Program. This position acts as an advisor, lead, and expert consultant on health policy issues as they relate to the Dental Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Experience: Three years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Notes:

  1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field for one year of the required experience.
  2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field for two years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and requirements.
  2. Experience working independently and as part of a team.
  3. Experience prioritizing and multitasking workload.
  4. Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google applications.
  5. Experience with contract management.
  6. Experience with Dental Services.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
