Job summary

The University of Houston Law Center invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Research Scholar position in Health Law. The appointee will be affiliated with HLPI and work under the Director to support research, grants, policy outreach, and program development.

Minimum qualifications include a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and a strong record or potential in health law scholarship. The role offers research opportunities with occasional teaching on overload basis.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school; excellent record or potential in health law scholarship.

Responsibilities

• Support HLPI’s research portfolio, including grant-funded projects.
• Identify additional grant and funding opportunities; network with state bodies on health law policy.
• Update the Texas Bench Book biennially; participate in stakeholder meetings on health issues.
• Oversee the Texas health legislative fellows program; advise and support HLPI student activities.
• Assist with events, marketing, fundraising, and HLPI web/social media; participate in conferences; teach only on overload basis.
