Job summary

The University of Houston Law Center invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Research Scholar position in Health Law. The successful candidate will hold a J.D.

degree and work with HLPI to support research, grants, and policy outreach. Responsibilities include advising on health law issues for the Texas Legislature, updating the Texas Bench Book, coordinating fellowships, and assisting in planning events, marketing, and fundraising.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold a J.D. degree (or equivalent) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Strong potential for health law scholarship and research experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support HLPI’s research portfolio, including grant-funded research.
• Identify additional grant and funding opportunities and advise on policy issues.
• Advise Texas Legislature and state regulatory agencies on health law and policy matters.
• Update the Texas Bench Book biennially and oversee health legislative fellows program.
• Assist HLPI faculty with student activities, events, marketing, and fundraising.
