Job summary

County of Sonoma's Health Services Department seeks an experienced Health Information Technology Manager to lead IT operations and oversee critical health information systems, including electronic health records.

The role requires strong project management, a background in health IT, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders while guiding staff and contractors to deliver secure, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Four years of progressively responsible experience planning, developing and administering multiple, complex information technology systems and applications, including one year of supervisory or lead responsibility for defining, planning and implementing automated information systems.
• Graduation from a four-year college with major coursework in business analysis, project management, management information systems, computer science, statistics, or closely related field.
• Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including necessary special endorsements, as required by the State of California to perform the essential job functions of the position.
• Considerable knowledge of IT policy and planning concepts, methods, and practices; customer service protocols; capabilities and limitations of various computer systems; information system security technologies; project management principles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee departmental information technology operations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve technology goals, including procurement of an electronic health record and enterprise software solutions.
• Plan and implement strategic initiatives related to IT operations.
• Act as a liaison between agencies to plan, analyze, design, manage, and coordinate technical deliverables.
• Manage systems and oversee staff contributing to the operations of these systems.
