Job summary

County of San Mateo seeks an Education & Informatics Manager within San Mateo County Health's Health IT Division to lead training, education, and informatics efforts, ensuring successful adoption and ongoing use of systems, workflows, and technologies across County Health.

The Manager oversees Training and Informatics teams, sets strategy and priorities, and ensures coordination of day-to-day education, rounding, workflow support, and informatics activities for both clinical and non-clinical

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in clinical, nursing or medical informatics and five years of related clinical experience.
• Experience managing and supporting large-scale training programs including instructional design and scheduling.
• Strong collaboration with operational leaders and frontline staff to drive adoption of health IT.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize the daily workload and assignments of the HIT Informatics and Training teams.
• Lead the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and priorities for HIT Informatics and Training.
• Identify, track, escalate, and resolve risks, barriers, and issues affecting training delivery and adoption.
• Develop and execute plans to educate end users on workflow and functionality changes during upgrades and optimization.
• Partner with operational, informatics, and technical teams to prioritize and support system changes and adoption.
• Coordinate Epic and other training offerings, calendars, and logistics; oversee instructor coordination and learner readiness.
• Coordinate frontline rounding to observe workflows and address adoption concerns.
