vTech Solution is seeking a Health Information Technician I to process and coordinate medical records in compliance with Title 22, CIHQ, and Medical Staff Rules. You will analyze deficiencies, scan records, and assist physicians to ensure timely completion in an acute care setting.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of medical record experience, proficiency with Windows and EHR systems, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong attention to detail with HIPAA confidentiality.

  • Proficiency with Windows software and electronic health record applications.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical record documentation standards.
  • Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines, scanners, and computers.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of physician record completion processes and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze medical records to ensure completeness and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate physician medical record completion and notify physicians of outstanding documentation.
  • Maintain documentation of notifications and monitor unsigned or incomplete electronic orders and records.
  • Assist physicians one-on-one with electronic record completion and elevate unresolved issues.
  • Activate temporary suspension of medical staff privileges for non-compliance and communicate accordingly.
  • Scan and file loose documents into electronic health record systems such as ChartMaxx.
  • Perform daily counts and reporting of incomplete medical records and deficiency analysis.
  • Complete incident reports for any potential compensable events identified during record review.
  • Operate office equipment including computers, scanners, fax machines, and telephones.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and related policies.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment and adhere to departmental productivity standards.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and other customers served.

Job Summary:

Scheduling:


  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shift.

  • Standard daytime hours with no indication of on-call or weekend shifts.
