Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics in Northfield, MN is seeking an HIM Analyst to support the management of health information, ensuring completeness, accuracy, integrity and privacy of medical records for timely patient care. The role collaborates with administrative, quality, clinical and IT staff to sustain quality clinical records and the integration of HIM technologies.

The Analyst will ensure compliance with privacy, HIPAA and applicable regulations, participate in audits, and support ongoing

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn quickly.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and validate patient records for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance; follow up as needed.
• Provide exemplary customer service for incoming phone and email requests and handle priority dictations.
• Assist with release of information (ROI) requests in accordance with HIPAA and policies.
• Prepare documents for scanning and verify all documents with 98% accuracy within set timeframes.
• Enrolling patients and answering questions regarding the MyHealth Portal.
• Provide access to medical records through defined release processes and schedule reviews by outside auditors.
• Participate in audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
