Job summary

Mercy seeks a Health Information Technician to process and fulfill PHI requests, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate documentation. You will address provider questions and perform basic chart corrections, while managing scanned records to uphold quality and productivity.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma with medical terminology; 1 year in HIM/medical records. RHIT/RHIA certification is preferred, with some college and anatomy knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; medical terminology.
• Experience: 1 year in HIM/medical records department or related field.

Responsibilities

• Process and fulfill requests for PHI in compliance with regulations.
• Address provider questions regarding documentation and basic chart corrections.
• Manage scanned medical records to ensure quality and productivity standards.
