Qualifications

• Analyzes, and scans or imports records within allotted time.
• Evaluates to ensure scanned and imported records are complete and accurate.
• Assists with retrieval of records for hospital personnel, third party payers, or other release of information when necessary.
• Follows policies and procedures on Release of Information; protects patient’s right to privacy.

Responsibilities

• Answers the department telephone and provides customer service in accordance with hospital standards.
• Works with HIM and other departments to complete records processes including coding and billing.
• Ensures records are available for continuing care and timely release of information.
