CHI Health Mercy Corning in Iowa is seeking a Senior HIM Specialist to manage advanced health information management tasks across the medical record lifecycle, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and availability of patient records.

You will handle document imaging, chart analysis, data integrity resolution, and ROI support, partnering with providers and staff in a fast-paced environment while upholding HIPAA and regulatory standards; must work independently under pressure and demonstrate strong

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
1–3 years HIM experience in acute care or healthcare setting, or pursuing RHIT/RHIA.
Experience with EMR systems and HIM applications preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced HIM functions including document imaging (prep, scan, index, quality review).
Analyze medical records for completeness and manage deficiencies per regulatory requirements.
Investigate and resolve data integrity issues and maintain Master Patient Index accuracy.
Process and reconcile rejected orders and support provider completion workflows.
Support and process release of information (ROI) requests per regulatory standards.
Ensure adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
