Job summary

BJC Medical Group, the physician-led arm of BJC HealthCare, seeks a Health Information Management Specialist to support centralized HIM activities in Missouri. Entry-level role with NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS.

Responsibilities include reviewing scanned records, monitoring work queues, and handling release-of-information requests per regulations. Requires a High School Diploma or GED; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• RHIA/RHIT certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Provides centralized support of HIM to ensure consistent application usage and best practices.
• Reviews scanned medical records and monitors work queues and error logs, troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Reviews requests for release of information and releases information in compliance with organization, state, and federal requirements.
• Coordinates corrections and amendments to patient medical records.
• Scans and files documents using appropriate chart categories and reference dates per protocols.
