Job summary

BJC Medical Group is seeking a Health Information Management Specialist to provide centralized HIM support, ensure consistent application usage, and manage requests for release of information. The role involves reviewing scanned records, monitoring queues, and coordinating amendments to patient records across multiple locations.

Strong attention to detail and familiarity with privacy rules are essential. This is an on-site, full-time position offering a day shift schedule with guaranteed hours

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 2-5 years experience in HIM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides centralized support of health information management (HIM) to ensure consistent application usage.
• Provides quality reviews of scanned medical record images and monitors work queues and error logs.
• Reviews requests for release of information and releases information in accordance with state/federal requirements.
• Coordinates corrections and amendments to patient medical records.
• Scans and files documents using chart categories and reference dates per organization protocols.
