Delaware Hospice is actively seeking a part-time Health Information Specialist. This role provides clerical and computer support to Inpatient Center clinical staff and drives the quality control of clinical data in patient records.

The position emphasizes compliance with federal and state regulations, maintenance of accurate documentation, and ongoing support for certification and training across Delaware Hospice locations. 20 hours weekly, with every-other weekend commitment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal training program relevant to this position.
• One year of medical office experience; more may substitute for training.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 coding.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and accurate.
• Must be able to travel to all Delaware Hospice locations as needed.
• May be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to work extended hours in front of a video display terminal.

Delaware Hospice is actively seeking a part-time Health Information Specialist. This is a part-time role working 20 hours a week to include every other weekend.The Health Information Specialist is responsible for providing clerical and computer support to Inpatient Center clinical staff in the provision of hospice care and services. Assumes responsibility for the quality control of clinical data entered into the patients’ medical record. Functions within established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
